Last week was crazy, as I had multiple reunions with friends and family whom I hadn´t seen for a while. This social meetings gave me the opportunity to catch up with Mexico City´s gastronomical offers, which I certainly appreciated as I bumped into an it place for every person living or visiting DF: Romita Comedor.
Innovation, art, good music, vintage-chic and, certainly, an amazing environment to grab drinks and dinner with friends, are the words that best define this Porfirian-style house, located in the heart of Colonia Roma.
Authentic Mexican food will be delivered to you throughout a diverse variety of plates such as Tortilla Soup, Pescado a la Talla, Camarones al Mojo, Tacos de cecina, and my favorite, Aguachile de camarón; each one of them carefully elaborated with a gourmet touch, by Chef Juan Carlos Campos, that differs from any other place.
On the other hand, Romita Comedor offers a wide variety of original drinks, never seen or tried before. It´s mixology gives every drink a different flavour for every taste. Try the Horchata de Aguacate (avocado martini, horchata, tequila centenario plata and a citric touch), Sangria Romita (red wine infusion with spices, red berries and sparkling water) or the Shot Maracuya (a shot with ketel one, black raspberry, maracuya and champagne). There are equally good options for the non-drinkers as well.
Romita Comedor is definitively a must for every Sybarite person. If you spare some time while waiting for your table, you can take a look at the masterpieces by the artists Richard Mozka and Enrique Metinindez, but I strongly suggest you to make an anticipated reservation, as Romita Comedor is the place to be.
