On my last post, I told you everything about the amazing Galeria Loewe located in Paseo de Gracia. However, I decided to make a separate post on the temporary exhibition which is shown at this time. This expo is dedicated to the great historical legend of an era: The Kennedys.
The photographer behind this amazing exhibit is Mark Shaw, who also shot personalities of the likes of Pablo Picasso, Brigitte Bardot and Coco Chanel.
Mark Shaw was able to create the most intimate family portrait of the once President of The United States. Shaw remained 1036 days at the White House (from 1960-1963), gathering a large volume of graphic material with warmth that few images have.
40 portraits and photographs that have not been displayed in 50 years illustrate JFK’s public and personal life until his death in 1963.
Shaw was a close friend of the Kennedys and for five years he had the privilege of being the unofficial family photographer. Not only was he present with his camera at the Oval Office at many of the president´s institutional meetings, he also has access to the intimate spaces where JFK spent time with his family and children in an attempt to enjoy a little bit of anonymity. This is what makes his pictures so unique, as they reflect a human, classic and natural vision of one of America’s most renown family.
The exhibit will be open in Barcelona until November 15 at Paseo de Gracia 35.
