There have been so many re-makes of Victor Hugo´s French novel Les Misérables, but none of them has had so many expectations as the motion picture adaptation by Tom Hooper, Academy Award winning director for The King´s Speech (2010), which will be in cinemas by January 2013.
Hugh Jackman as ex prisoner Jean Valjean, Russell Crowe as Javert and Anne Hathaway as Fantine, are some of the celebrities presenting this world´s longest running musical. Also, Amanda Seyfried ( Mamma Mia!), Eddie Redmayne (The Other Boleyn Girl) , Aaron Tveit (Gossip Girl), Samantha Barks (Cabaret), Helena Bonham Carter (Alice in Wonderland), and Sacha Baron Cohen (Borat).
Considered one of the greatest novels of the 19th century, certainly there is a lot of expectancy for this film. Love, passion, sacrifice and redemption will be delivered to you with an ambiance of sorrow and melancholy while listening to songs like “I Dreamed a Dream” and “One Day More”.
I´m so eager to watch this new interpretation of Victor Hugo, as I´ve always thought classics have the power to make you FEEL like it´s the first time you´ve ever seen them…
